Axio Power

Investors:

Axio Power is a private company held by individual investors and Greenlight Energy Resources, a private equity firm focused on renewable energy.

Axio Power’s lead investor, Greenlight Energy Resources, has its roots as Greenlight Energy, a utility-scale wind developer based in Charlottesville, VA founded in 2000. During 7 years of operations, Greenlight grew its organization to 27 employees and its pipeline of wind projects to 6,000 MW. In 2006, Greenlight sold its wind development assets to British Petroleum for $125,000,000. GER was capitalized with a portion of these proceeds which it has used to invest in renewable energy companies including wind, biodiesel, wave energy, and solar. In 2007, GER founded Greenlight Sunstream to develop solar projects in Canada and acquired Helios Energy in California. The companies were merged under the leadership of Helios Energy in 2008 to form Axio Power. In 2009, the solar assets of BQ Energy were acquired by Axio Power and Greenlight Energy Resources founded a wind development company, Apex Wind Energy, which collaborates with Axio Power on renewable energy projects.

In addition to delivering stable-priced renewable electricity, our projects displace forms of energy which may pollute and degrade air quality.
