Axio Power

What We Do:

Axio Power develops large-scale solar projects that provide reliable sources of clean, renewable energy during periods of peak demand. We start by seeking out sites in regions where solar makes economic sense. Once we have identified a viable site, we permit, develop, finance, and build projects, typically selling power under long term contracts to the local utility.

We deliver renewable energy to our utility partners. Utilities are our key partners in any solar PV project. Our solar projects deliver power to utilities at stable rates during hours of peak demand. With thoughtful project siting and planning, our projects can safely interconnect to serve local loads and relieve transmission congestion. We can sell power either under a long term power purchase agreement (PPA) or we can deliver solar projects turn-key.

We work with a variety of customers. From commercial to government entities who seek the benefit of long-term defined-rate renewable energy at their facilities, we can help these customers secure varies solar incentives and understand how a solar project will impact their current electricity bill. We deliver both the technical and financial know-how to make projects happen. We serve large institutional or commercial customers who have peak electricity loads of at least two megawatts.

We seek the most efficient technology. Our engineers seek the best technical solution suited for each particular project by partnering with a range of equipment and services suppliers that provide solar PV modules, inverters and balance-of-system equipment. At the local level, we work with capable, qualified local contractors to get the job built right and on time.

We develop brownfield sites. Across the country, former land uses have rendered formerly productive sites unsuitable for re-development. Axio Power is an industry leader in safely converting these sites into renewable energy projects. Solar projects are particular well-suited to brownfields which have no other practical near-term use – by converting the sun’s rays into emissions-free electricity for the local community. We call it the ‘renewable use of land’.

We are a good neighbor. A solar project should be the pride of the neighborhood or community. PV projects co-exist well with people, industry, farms and businesses by keeping a low visual profile, not making noise, not requiring water, and requiring little maintenance. Axio Power knows that local communities are vital stakeholders in the process of permitting, zoning, building and operating solar farms. Respect for the land is one of our core values.

We operate across North America. We are based in California and have regional offices in Ontario (Canada), New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.  As solar becomes cost competitive with traditional fossil fuels, and regulations become more favorable to renewable energy, we want to be present to help customers and utilities get projects built.

With a low visual profile, and almost no reflectivity, a solar farm silently generates renewable electricity without disturbing its neighbors.
